1. About this site

The Plain Thread is an online directory of brands that sell clothing and home goods made from natural fibers. The site is operated by The Plain Thread LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. By using this site you agree to these terms.

2. Directory listings

Brands may sign up and pay to be listed without prior approval. Listings go live once payment is confirmed. We review all listings on a monthly basis to verify that listed brands use natural fibers as their primary material and that their listing information is accurate.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any brand's claims about their materials, certifications, sourcing, or practices. Listed brands are independent businesses. The Plain Thread is not responsible for the products, services, pricing, delivery, returns, or conduct of any listed brand. When you click through to a brand's website, that brand's own terms and privacy policy apply.

3. Affiliate links and commercial relationships

Some outbound links on this site include affiliate tracking. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase through these links. Affiliate relationships do not influence which brands are listed or how they are described. The price you pay is not affected.

Brands pay a monthly fee for a listing in the directory. Payment for placement does not affect editorial content, fiber guides, or comparison pages on this site.

4. Brand subscriptions

Listing subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for any reason, including partial billing periods or early cancellation.

A subscription grants placement in the directory and access to the brand portal, including an analytics dashboard showing impressions and clicks. It does not guarantee a specific ranking position, a minimum number of impressions or clicks, or any particular commercial outcome.

If a subscription payment fails, portal access will be suspended until payment is resolved.

The Plain Thread LLC reserves the right to remove any listing that does not meet our standards — including misrepresentation of materials, certifications, or practices — at any time and without notice. No refund is owed in any case of removal. This applies regardless of when in the billing period removal occurs.

5. Certifications

Where certifications such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX, or Bluesign are referenced, this information is sourced from the brand's own website or public certification databases. The Plain Thread does not independently verify certification status. Certifications may lapse. Verify directly with the issuing body if certification status is material to your purchasing decision.

6. No warranty

This site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no representations about the suitability of any listed brand for any particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Plain Thread LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, reliance on any listing, or any transaction with a listed brand.

8. Intellectual property

The content on this site, including fiber guides, comparison pages, and editorial content, is the property of The Plain Thread LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without written permission.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from use of this site will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page.
