Why is some cashmere so cheap?
Shorter fibers, thinner knits and blends cut cost. Short fibers work loose and pill. Price alone does not tell you the grade, but very cheap cashmere usually saves money somewhere.
Does all cashmere pill?
Some pilling in the first few wears is normal, especially under the arms. Remove it with a cashmere comb. Long-fiber cashmere pills less over time.
How do I wash a cashmere sweater?
Hand wash in cool water with a wool or cashmere detergent, press the water out in a towel, and dry it flat. Never hang it wet.
