Percale or sateen?
Percale is a plain one-over, one-under weave with a matte, crisp feel that suits hot sleepers. Sateen floats more yarn on the surface, so it feels silky and drapes heavier but holds a bit more warmth.
Does thread count matter?
Up to a point. 200 to 400 covers most good sheets. Very high counts often use thin multi-ply yarns and can sleep hotter without lasting longer.
Are organic cotton sheets worth it?
They are grown without synthetic pesticides, and GOTS certification limits chemicals in processing too. They feel the same as conventional sheets of the same weave and fiber length.
